I wasn’t feeling anything on my immediate TBR list so I decided to pick up an older book by a favorite author. Kate’s books are perfect for a cozy winter day indoors by the fire.

I’m obsessed with this cover. I hope the book is as good as the cover.

This might be my favorite horror by T. Kingfisher. I’ll have to wait to see how it ends.

The main character is really quite unlikeable. It’s been a long time since I read about such an unlikeable protagonist. I can’t tell if it’s just her I don’t like, or if it’s the book I don’t like.

Also this book has no chapters, just one big collection of text.

Currently obsessed. Adrienne Young girlies would love this.

So far these stories are pretty okay. Not great but also not bad.

I don’t know how to feel about this series. It’s good, but also just…kind of strange.

Rereading this book before reading the final Bridge Kingdom book because The Twisted Throne is genuinely so excellent and the political intrigue is top notch and I love it so much.

Really enjoying this.

DNF at 13%

I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I am enjoying this book so far.

I have read a lot of pages of this book and nothing is happening. It’s quite slow-moving and boring to me. :(

I’m very invested and very much enjoying this so far.

At 12:47 a.m. as I was laying in bed I said, “I’m just going to finish this chapter. There are 3 minutes left. Then I will go to sleep.”
Well we all know that is a lie consistently told by readers. I read six chapters and was up past 2 a.m. I’m sleepy today, but I don’t regret it.

Reading this book 100% because of the title.

I love the meta authorial voice in this series. So good.

I’m enjoying this series quite a bit. It’s different from other fantasy series I’ve read. Unique. Definitely worth trying out.

This is not at all what I expected it to be, but I’m still enjoying it. Definitely something different though.

Craving a clean historical romance so here we go. I don’t believe I’ve read a historical romance before so this will be my first.

Very similar vibes to Don’t Let the Forest In. Lots of plant horror and a little bit of body horror and a tortured main character.

The part about using a corpse’s tattooed skin is really interesting!

Decided to check out just the first page. Ended up reading the first hundred pages.

This is fascinating and educational.

Weirdly, I feel like this is a mix of Under the Oak Tree and Rebecca, plus a dash of magic and a hedgehog companion.

I’m honestly bored :(

I’m kind of devastated.

Loving this series, as usual.

I don’t know how I feel about this yet. I, of course, expected to love it. But something about the time travel aspect just feels off. I will persevere and see how I feel later.
