Marcy Cherry is starting The Last Battle (Chronicles of Narnia, #7)
Oh man. This book. The ending of this book is so good, and it is written so beautifully, that I wept. As a Christian, it made me long all the more for eternity and for heaven. And for the reunions that will happen on that day, when I am finally in the presence of my Savior, and all my brothers and sisters in Christ, who have gone on before me.

Marcy Cherry is starting The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics
Started this book today. We are listening to it on Audible. My hope is that this book will help both me and my teens to learn something of what teamwork is really about, and even a practical application of the best what real community can be and can achieve, as we listen to this true story.

This is one of my 11 year old daughter’s favorite series of books, that she wanted me to read for a while. Well, I was able to start the book today, and it is pretty good. It’s also pretty funny. It reminds me a little bit of the movie “My Big Fat Greek wedding “, although the family is Italian.

Admitting this probably ruins my street cred as a homeschool mom, lol, but truth is, I have never actually read through the entire Narnia series. I have read all of the books up to this one, but never read this one or the Last Battle. Now, I love every book of Lewis’s that I have read as an adult, especially the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I just didn’t grow up in a home with parents who read fiction.

I am enjoying this book so far, but it is a very meaty book. The first chapter discussed costly grace vs cheap grace. The second chapter discussed how obedience and faith are intertwined, and how we can’t follow Jesus conditionally. I chose to listen to this book as an audible readaloud with my teens, hoping we could discuss and be challenged by it together.
