the dialogue all sounds the same, they all talk in the same superfluous language and she relies too heavily on ethnic generalization in an attempt to create dynamic characters…it’s when she begins to wax philosophical that the book reels me back in.

DNF. First vignette was good, 2nd was annoying. They all revolve around some dude tightrope walking across the 2 towers, which is the most boring parts.

Gross but in a neat way.

More of a reference guide than a book. Sure she’s biased against “the patriarchy” but I like her in-your-face attitude because female sexuality and health are still sometimes treated as taboo.

Thank you! A book that serves to dispel myths and pseudoscience that circulates around women’s health: LOOKING AT YOU GWENETH PALTROW AND “ALTERNATIVE/NEW AGE” SEXUAL HEALTH GURUS WITH NO SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATIONS.

I hate how you’re hit over the head with details. Like damn, let the reader realize shit for himself at some point.

The writing can be a bit irritating: run-one sentences that tend to confuse the reader, too much telling instead of showing. I think that’s what made it a bit of a flat read. The narrator comes off as an oblivious idiot but I think that may be the point.
