Donald Scoby is 30% done with Storyteller: How to Be An Audio Book Narrator
One one would think that a leading audiobook narrator who's written a book about becoming an audiobook narrator would find it important to link the audiobook version of her book on Goodreads for people who prefer to listen to the audiobook version of the book.

Haven't had time to read this -- however -- some things are happening (in a good way) that may make this even more applicable and better necessitate a full read finally.

1st time with WGibson material. Fairly well blown away. I'm listening to one of the audiobook versions. I'm coming across elements that seem to have influenced other books, movies, and even music.

Went from War On Small Business directly into Entrepreneur Equation. Brings a lot of raw perspective on where I and my small business was at in its first generation by contrast to where it is since pivoting 5 years ago -- and I'm only 1/2 way through! Roth sums up things I was told and would tell someone considering going down the small business path.

Petrov gives a subtle dream-ambiance to his story -- weaving through dreams-within-dreams, alien contact, while easily creating characters and settings. Pleasing audiobook experience!

I'm working my way through Macintyre's various books. I enjoy his style along with the quirks he finds and includes in telling rather unknown history. In the case of Agent Sonya ... I'm finding I'm not following it as close as those before. Still, enjoying the insight on her history.

I'm about 1/2 way through -- a few things keep popping up ...

For some reason this makes me think of his Krampus book. Same audiobook narrator? Something in the writing style?

There's a darkness, sometimes starkness, and always macabre richness in this story. It resonates with others like Nightmare Before Xmas, Edward Gorey, Lemony Snicket, etc. I could see a film version of this, something similarly executed.

My focus right now is not 100% -- BUT -- loving this book so far! Much of it has to do with the author's use of language -- I'm not following the story so well but being rolled along by its poetry. What a gift -- I'll listen to it 2ce, each time getting something different from the rich writing!

Picks up where Crimson Deathbringer left off. Enjoying how the author kept the same atmosphere imbued with humor.

S-O C-L-O-S-E to complete! The story took a twist, a necessary twist, that I nearly missed until after the fact -- I think because of the 3-hour long ever livid speech. The book has been fantastic, the point of the speech was integral, but the excessive length hurt the book. Glad to be adding this one to my list of book accomplishments.

On one hand, we know John can speak -- on the other hand, he has the world's biggest soap box.

I've reached the 'long speech toward the end' I had heard about. GOOD LORD!!! It goes for hours & Hours & HOURS! I understand what Rand was doing, but it's bad for the story -- and it doesn't fit. The 'lesser' people wouldn't listen to such a long broadcast, much less really comprehend it.

Read a bit of a surprise / not-surprise today. I've been told by another reader that I should be prepared to have my mind blown by the end. Also told there's some long speech. Not sure if I've hit that either. Enjoying the read though. Very timely book.

Had AR written Fountainhead as she did Atlas Shrugged, I'd have liked it WAY better! Quite enjoying AS, interesting that she wrote it when she did, seeing how it resonates today.

Much better than Fountainhead, which was mostly a big soap-opera. Atlas Shrugged has better continuity, content has more meaning to story. Interesting to read now, Ayn Rand's writing seems to resonate with modern events.

Previously plowed through Fountainhead, which I was told should be covered before Atlas Shrugged. I remain of the opinion that Fountianhead was overwritten. As for Atlas Shrugged, I know it is longer and has its famously long (and wandering?) speech .... so .... we'll see. In any case, I expect to be done with this in about ... probably .... two years. If I cram.

I have the audiobook from CD. I got to disc 5 and found I was more interested in consuming other materials. So far, this had nice description and language, but I couldn't tell that anything in the way of the story was building ..... sooooooo???

What a FUN RIDE! I've gone directly from Signal to Earth Song -- it's like first being introduced to chocolate, then discovering dark chocolate. I would enjoy seeing Signal made as an online teaser film to promote a theatric film of Earth Song. Go Lauren!!!

I'm not reading this as fast as I aimed, however the concepts move forward and register nicely each time I crack it open.

Following via audiobook. I'm not as engaged as I was with book-1 "Girl With All The Gifts", so I think I should listen to it again later. IMO it would be good to have multiple books written into this world -- like a story(line?) from the perspective of some Junkers.
