This is terrible

First Freida McFadden book. Pray for me.

This book desperately needed an editor. I don’t see how this story needs 1000 pages to be told. And the only reason a 1000-page debut is allowed is because the marketing for this book capitalizes off of the author’s Harry Potter fanfic fame. The writing isn’t bad, but the info-dumping of worldbuilding leaves much to be desired. Try as I might, I see HP everywhere here. In rare moments, it stands on its own.

*sigh* here we go.

Some scenes are delectable, and others are so boring. Writers always needed more editing I guess

It’s fine. I resonate with a lot being said, so I’m not really learning anything new. It’s also a bit repetitive.

The second story about virtual working RULED and was also terrifying

Okay that second story did NOT have to go that hard 😭 Taiji and Fukima deserve better!!!

Things are picking up again.

The more I read, the more I’m “meh” about it. :( I enjoyed the first third more.

Started this awhile ago and now logging. I’ve made lots of notes (on my Kindle) from this book so far!!!

This is a damn important memoir

I’m not a fan of the pacing or the circumstances that necessarily led to this point. I understand needing to make a point of no return for the main character, but it didn’t feel particularly in character.

The girls are catching FEELINGS.
