I liked the underground maze chapter.

So, I assume his mom is the one who drugged him...
I'm not sure how I feel about his survival so far being entirely due to luck...
I want to finish this book soon so I can move on to others...

The old housekeeper recognized him and said he shouldn't have come but was called away before she could finish her warning and his mom's excitement was turned on and off like a light switch.

And we learn his dad is a geneticist. The question is if that's a red herring or part of the plot.

Really... Not only did the author include an unkindness of ravens, but he included a raven tapping as well?

8 years passed with the turn of a page.
We have a gf with a mysteriously absent brother... presumably related to the plot.
And it basically felt like a second chapter to introduce the characters.
Perhaps I'm biased from reading web novels, but I'm not seeing any hook yet to draw me in...

Based on the description it's already blatantly clear his brother was supposed to win this "game" and that our MC is the substitute.

I expect the story will be a mix of survival and unraveling what is going on before our MC destroys the game... (or the game absorbs him... depends if this is a revenge story or a corruption story... or both.)

I don't think my page count matches...
Unless part of it is missing. Goodreads says 806 total pages, but my reader says 642

TL;DR - MC thinks slavery is bad. Evil deity gives some interesting perspective but doesn't change MCs opinion.

So, there was a William side story.
Knowing his character I wasn't remotely interested in reading it.
I read it anyway.
It was surprisingly interesting, and while I still think the multiverse is better off without him, it does appear he is trying to change.

This book begins with Monkey shines and @#& slinging. It lasted a bit longer than I'd like but was interesting.

I had expected the conference to be full, but it was well executed and surprisingly interesting.

Only real complaint is that a page was missing...

Current the book is probably in the 3 star range

Though I skipped the stat blocks, and kept forgetting who was who, I enjoyed this book a lot.

I'll probably start book 4 soon

I was reading the webtoon but didn't want to wait.
Since someone kept posting in each chapters comments that the toon was faithful to the book, I figured I'd just read the book
Enjoying it so far.

I really enjoy the bite sized nature of the stories, especially since they are hit or miss.
There are some authors who I want to look into more while others I'll likely pass on.
I'm glad I backed the kickstarter so far, even if I was slow to finally read it.

Started reading again but fell asleep!

I actually finished the web novel equivalent days ago... but not knowing how much this covered I waited to update until finishing volume 1.

I enjoyed it a lot. Good world building. Ryo didn't solve everything, the other characters were highly capable as well. I even didn't mind when we went chapters without seeing our MC

No clue if this is really halfway or not.
I have almost reached the end of the first anime episode now.

Chapter 14
Still havent caught up with the end of anime episode one. There are a lot of additional things which were presumably cut for time (rice, dual eagle attack). Interestingly, he didn't encounter the headless swordsman yet... so I'm not sure if/how that will be incorporated.

I'm actually reading the web novel so the length won't match up.
Part 1 is 255 chapters split over 7 light novel volumes.
So, that's about 36 chapters a volume.
I'm up to chapter 7, so I'll guesstimate 15%

There are still grammar mistakes... though less cringeworthy than before.
I can actually see why the book has good reviews.
The question is whether or not the first third tainted my impression too much...
