I do love when historians have to admit how much of history, particularly military history, is shaped by coincidence and decisions made in the dark than any real planning.

Aunt Greenow and Jeanette are an excellent comedic duo. The Greenow/Cheesacre chapters are keeping me going.

Seriously Alice’s logic through the whole section is like Britain’s attitude towards Brexit. So many exits before the road goes off a cliff and a complete inability to take them because of … boredom?.

I forgot how absolutely insufferable Victor is as a narrator. I thought rereading as an adult would be a better experience than high school, but no.

Picking up a book that deserves to be read in one go on a week day, yet again...🙃

Why did this book have to come on a Thursday? I have to do things tomorrow. Adult things that require discipline and a full night’s sleep.

Not staying up till 3 in the morning to finish, which is what this book demands.

CD takes about a millennia to get to the point, but I keep coming back for the characters - I have not stopped laughing for a solid 5 minutes.

I am depressed and Rosamund Pike has one of the most soothing voices.

This is so difficult to put down. Might have found a must read.

I promise I feel terrible for the communities that were harmed, but it is infuriating to hear that these people distrust the EPA because “environmentalists don’t understand living in a coal town” but thought that giant companies with technology they, the townspeople, don’t understand were going to play them straight.

And then who did they have to call when within a year when things went wrong? The EPA.
