My poor boy Nasir is so sad its depressing. He has NO LOVED ONES. HOW SAD IS THAT. also living for his hate/love relationship with Altair who claims to hate him but also saved him when he saw how alone he was. Finally, the tension btw nasir and zafira is *chefs kiss*.

Never realised how depressing this book is. Being in a 17 year old's head while shes dealing with the weight of the world on her shoulders and being manipulated left and right isnt fun lmao. Thank god nikolai brings SOME comic relief lol

I hate the sultan. I HATE THE SULTAN OMFG WHAT A HORRIBLE HUMAN BEING. Nasir deserves so much better but it is interesting to see him battle his feelings for his father. On one hand, he HATES him and FEARS HIM so doesnt kill because he wants to but because hes forced to but on the other, he still wants to be worthy so in a sense, he wants to become a cold blooded killer... INTERESTING 🤔

Why am i kinda shipping nikolai and alina... they would be cute hihi. Fedyor isnt on the darklings side i didnt remember that. thats interesting for his relationship with ivan in the show i wonder what they will do...

Mal and nikolai fighting... too much testosterone like calm DOWN. I was like alina during that fight : done with their bullshit. I like that the book shows that nikolai wants to save his country but also wants POWER. Hes kinda being a little shit but his decisions make sense, mal's the one who cant control himself its annoying lol. Hes self centered i feel but at the same time i understand him... ugh im frustrated.

The characters r so boring omfg im gonna dnf, no way am i finishing this EVER. Kell is just... annoying complaining about his life in front of Lila like that girl didnt go through so much worse than him. Im sorry i get everyone has struggles but goddamn ur parents obviously love u even tho ur adopted, ur literally a prince and ur brothers amazing. Like WHAT. Lilas also annoying so its not like she saves the book lol.

Just witnessed the best reveal of the grishaverse (i dont take critisicism) and all i have to say is Alina punching nikolai remains one of, if not THE most iconic thing in this trilogy and u cant change my mind about that. Side note : this man CRACKS me up omfg he literally cannot shut up its hilarious.

- Nikolai radiates the same energy as Kaz Brekker and i cant for the life of me understand why and how.
- Genyalina broke my heart yet again but that was expected.
- Tamar is very clearly stated to be a lesbian and idk how i didnt see that until book 3 (in my defense alina too but thats probably because she cant fathom anyone not being obsessed with mal ugh)

What jorgen feels in the carverns is the portal! It must be...this could change everything. Also can we appreciate the fact that spensa now knows that she would be a super shitty flightleader, we love growth and self awareness.
