There are so many threads to this story; the punjabi widows; the modern girl with her modern boyfriend; the sister who harks back to traditional arranged marriage; the mystery of the dead girl; the sadness of the mother of the dead girl; the unofficial temple police. It's a clever, interesting book. I'm enjoying the glimpse it gives me of one county's culture morphing quickly in a different country.

This is a very funny book. I've just seen that Tom Hanks plays Ovo/Otto in the film. I'm looking forward to seeing the film once I've finished the book.
