I so love seeing everything I missed the first read and getting to see things in a new context. Holly Black, the woman that you are.

oh how I adore this book

my expectations were low to begin with, but this book is severely lacking substance. it’s basically red, white, and royal blue meets rise of the guardians, which could’ve been fun- with emphasis on could’ve. it is not fun. rather, it is a slog. I wasn’t expecting literary genius from a book called the nightmare before kissmas, but I hoped the whimsy would get me through. hoping it somehow turns it around.
