In the intro to Breaking Things At Work the author mentions slaves in North America breaking tools as a systematic and ideological rebellion in connection to the Luddites in Europe and I was very happy to see him make that connection.

Anyway I live in Philadelphia and it’s 2026 and everything is “happy 250th birthday America” so this is what I’m doing about that. Also convincing me to work in an archive…

I watched Black Bag the other day in which Michael Fassbender gives some great monologues and I’m finding that creeping in to my internal reading voice for this and it’s really working

Incredibly stuff. It’s Kafka it’s looney toons it’s Pynchon it’s the simpsons it’s dirty jokes and fever dreams it’s like candy on the tongue I love it !!!!!

I can’t believe how much I love reading this book it’s so fucking funny and clever and well crafted and the experience of taking it slow and reading supplementary materials out of curiosity and really Getting Into It ™ is so rewarding. I’m starting to have Bloom thoughts lol
