Haven’t DNFed since reading again…wait okay Ouray rescue but not bc it wasn’t great
NF is different than F I feel like
Unsure how to approach a DNF, trying to get through to avoid the can of worms

Show and mostly tell
Lovely concept, not literature as is

Lot of telling…a lovely portrait of a spectrum of humans with some description and dialogue but I am not personally feeling much at stake for any of the characters

So far it’s too sickly sweet, let the record show I would give it a 2 but fear I may be swayed by looking at reviews and learning more about the author, but unless something changes significantly in the characters then I hope to be honest with myself in which case I would not give it even a 4
It is very delightful, and Oprah and a dear friend loved it so I feel bad not liking it so far

Alrightttt getting into it, still unsure about Agnes but I like the messiness and stakes of the characters, little bit of everyone tryna survive, fighting their own demons

The writing is superb of course, very distinct
It feels a little too familiar to MP Like if two van goghs were right next to another So maybe it’s a matter of being in the right mood bc she is a brilliant artist. So far Agnes is a little too perfect of a heroine for me. Of course we love a whimsy strong forgotten soul with a soft, feeling son. I liked the twistier characters of MP but we march on trusting Maggie!

Love some of the concepts and how it is giving me a bigger perspective
If I was a pediatrician, I think I would be very frustrated
They seem to be the villain and western research dismissed as money driven and fallible (small sample sizes, inconsistent)
But then she relies on the western concept of the the scientific method and western studies to back her conclusions
