I’m ashamed to say either my reading is limited or the selections are few because I can’t remember the last time I read a book with a character that’s a size 22. I love that the author literally spelled it out and didn’t just used pretty words.

“The hardest part of my grief is accepting the unending absence of her. Death. Is. Final. She is never coming back.”

It’s like I know/knew this but it’s still a shock to the system. No do overs, no fixing things. What’s done is done and I literally cannot change it.

I love the way Brendan Slocumb writes. He makes things that are so simple seem magical.

The lack of communication would normally get to me, but in this it’s comical, so it just works.

Did I read the synopsis? Yes. Was I prepared? Absolutely Not!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty gruesome, but it’s a good story so far.

Both Essie and Shanice are annoyingly naive. Also so much book and so little has happened.

Not liking the husband or the mother-in-law.

Finally able to focus on an audiobook, while doing other tasks, without getting distracted. I feel like I’ve graduated to another level of book lover.

Not the biggest fan of Keaton or her narration. Would love a bookstore/soul food cafe!

I love when books give you information about places and things you wouldn’t otherwise know about. However, this one has so much that you almost forget a murder happened. Maybe I can come back to it, but right now I’m just not feeling it.
