Even though I usually don’t like McFadden, this one kept me riveted. Even the unbelievable parts are just a little believable. It’s a delightful read if you’ve ever dreamed of vengeance.

As far as fake dating YA novels go, this one is pretty good. It has its trite and annoying moments, but the characters also have unique voice and the story line has some unique points too.

Lilian, a perpetual underachiever, agrees to care for the orphaned twin step-children of her former dorm mate. The children have the ability to catch on fire, but seemingly do not have the ability to control their ailment. It’s weirdly compelling.
