Struggling to finish - I read these books years ago and forgot what a trawl they were. The story's good but its telling is long-winded.

A sweet book, recounting the really quite poor England cricket team of the 1990s. I remember this team well - good guys, not tough enough, the rare win was like climbing a mountain.

Really enjoying it and will almost certainly finish tonight - it's unashamedly sentimental, emotionally raw, and I am into it heavily.

England/New Order 'World in Motion'. A fairly bobbins World Cup, but England were fantastic and this song was the soundtrack of the summer. Great memories - just turned 18, long and hot summer between sixth form and university spent mainly on the beach, not a worry in the world. What happened...?

Loving the geeky technical notes and the obvious affection Peter has for the songs and craft. Currently having to listen to old New Order albums (for the millionth time) as my musical accompaniment to the work, which is never a bad thing.

What a book! Feeling for Odran but also angry with him for knowing what was happening and doing nothing, therefore complicit in the conspiracy of silence and wishing to stay safe in his cossetted school job. All the same, a compelling character and a tragic victim of circumstance. Great book.

More coffee table history, and why not? There's much about thisn period I don't know (nobody does for certain!) and much debunking of myths to be done...

I've wanted to read Nick Clegg's own words about his time in office for some time - went from really liking him to sort of loathing him, quite quickly also, but the first few pages suggest an erudite, intelligent and self-aware man who just happened to be British politic's most important player for some years. Let's see, shall we...?

I'm finding this really interesting so far; the level of honesty and self-assessment from the author is very refreshing.
