Genuinely couldn't care less about the protagonist as well as her love interest at that point. The author just continues to throw trope after trope at the two - that's not how you build an interesting plot. That's how you write mediocre fan fiction.

(Will probably still finish the book because I still have some hope left that the author figures out, halfway through, how to actually tell an interesting story.)

Second story wasn't even slightly better than the first one.

Finished the first short story and oh my god is this book bad. The writing style as well as the storytelling itself is just... really not good. 🙃
How this book holds an average rating of 3.28 is absolutely beyond me.

I'm usually a sucker for vampire-stories but this is kinda cringe... even for my standards.
