This is intriguing … as a huge Buffy fan I’m enjoying the Easter eggs and the characters jump off the page alive as they always were…curious though how this all plays out.

This novel, while a YA and I read this genre frequently, was a hesitant purchase as it’s not my ‘comfort zone’ - I prefer sci-fi/dystopian.

But it is so well written, just as Laybourne’s MONUMENT 14 SERIES, I am confident I will like it. And maybe find some other books similar that aren’t my usual go to reads. Love the 2 points of view especially the male choice.

I loved the first book in this trilogy. These characters are so real, and quite unique. Excellent character development through the writing and plot. I’m struggling to keep reading bc I really wanted to see some wins for our heroes and heroines and not many happening yet in book two. Very tense and atmospheric, the locations create the tension and mood very well. Again, this series is very well written.

Doing a parent pre read over the next few weeks of a few books for my teen.
This one is an easy read, and a short book for a beach or pool.
I also am a fan of these types of thrillers involving puzzles odd games/dares etc as is my teen but doesn’t have time to read a 350 page book right now.

Wow. I have read many dystopian/science-fiction young adult books in the past 15 years but this one is beautifully written, a fresh narrative of a possible catastrophe that we view only from the eyes of youth.

This was published in 2012, around the time I had finished the GONE series. This is a more plausible disaster scenario for teens and kids, and a page turner.

I am a sucker for all things spooky involving Escape Rooms, and this being the prequel,to MurderTrending, makes it more intriguing.

Anna Katsu has brought to life in this historical fiction/horror novel a story during the 10th century we all know, but it was not well taught given the gruesomeness of cannibalism.

The ominous tone is in every paragraph, and this caravan of carriages has many voices, some good, some bad, and some in conflict. This is hard to put down especially as Katsu’s historical attention to detail is superb.

I will be sad to see this trilogy end -a;l 3 books are more well researched, a page turner, with a complicated protagonist filled with many layers.

Disappointed that I have figured out so much of this story already. Ware needs to be a bit more secretive when unfolding a good mystery. This is the 3rd book she has done this...

This is the Ruth Ware I love. THE GIRL IN CABIN 10 had left me a bit reluctant to pick up another but Ware shines in this type of atmospheric mystery

this may be one of the worst YA books I have stumbled upon. Reviews are misleading. I’m not sure what this book is, as I finally after months, gave up.

This is well written - but I feel I started in the middle of the story so I am having a hard time keeping an interest. Also it’s YA meets something ‘else’ that I cannot put into words. The town is sketch for starters... a lot seems off and no one cares...

This YA thriller series book 2 is an excellent follow up to the debut of the series by Sara Shepard.

I also recommend this series for true ‘young adults’ age 12 and up as the mystery is compelling and the writing is very good, but the author doesn’t delve too heavily into older YA subjects.

For YA fans wanting something page turning and fun, I recommend.

Needed a break from 2 dreary thrillers I’m reading and this is perfect.

Knives Out in YA fiction - admittedly the movie version seemed a bit at times a little YA too. And secret passages! The Nancy Drew in me loves a mansion with a crazy family, puzzles and disgruntled non-heirs.

I started this a few days ago... I’m having trouble liking anyone as the chapters switch narrators. This usually is a warning sign for me with thrillers.

However I love how atmospheric the story is and this lodge is a real place in the Scottish Highlands so I have enjoyed researching the real lodge against the fictional setup.

This is my first book by author Jody Gehrman. There is something pleasingly familiar about this ‘friends reunion’ type of thriller, reminds me of Michele Campbell’s work in some ways. Which is a compliment.
