1) the pauses between chapters are jarring for me 2) I’m unsure how I’m liking this as the repetitious style and slow pacing bores me more than I anticipated. I wonder how much seeing the film a decade ago has also impacted my reception. I think it takes the tension out for me?

Holy f, this is incredible

Wow, the first chapter has me hooked and completely shocked! I typically dislike time travel stories as well as “if you could meet anyone from the past, who would it be” queries. The first story via the first chapter though: I’m captivated.

I adore this book, but because it does such a good job stoking my own anger (and trauma), I have to take breaks to breathe and calm myself/nervous system down. This moment is no different.

OMFG, so good, but so hard to read.

It would have been nice if this had come with trigger warnings both for rape and the glorification of rape.
