Radha. Is. The. Worst. Judge. Of. Character.

This volume was the least enjoyable of the trilogy because it focuses on Radha. She was horrid as a 13 year old child and she is no less horrible now. The bad luck girl has grown up and she’s the same explosive, self centered, immature person she was some 20 years ago. The story mainly takes place in Paris which is … meh. Radha’s immaturity is writ large and it makes my skin crawl.

This series utilizes blunt objects from the extremes. Sea priests who are misogynistic in the extreme fight with one-dimensional feminists.

I swear I’d like this series more if Lucy Paterson’s rendition of Helena wasn’t unbearably annoying. It’s especially annoying when Lucy screams “nooooooo.”

One of the worst I’ve read this year. I mean, 48% of the way through, and nothing major happens. I can’t tell what the plot is, other than something like…she’s a wiergild and she’s supposed to be a hostage for a year and a day. Yeah, yeah, they’ve done her a wrong turn, but I can’t tell what it is or why it’s important. The main character is simultaneously boring and irritating. DNF
