This is so boring

This is really good. I love the interactions with the kid and how it creates a bit of a mirror room, with one reflecting on the other and vice versa. Very unique take on the narrative and the humorous tone is the cherry on top.

A bit slow paced and fragmented… I’m not finding myself wanting to get back to it honestly

When I noticed there was not a single dialogue in this book and that all is told indirectly I thought reading it would be a heavy load. But Lauren Groff has done it again and I’m sucked in deepppp and quick. Very poetic and rich writing style, so much it could be tiring if this author wasn’t the magician she is.

Yes the poetic writing is beautiful but when every sentence starts having these whimsical comparisons and metaphors it gets exhausting.
