I'm enjoying this so much. It's also so interesting to see what a dedicated fan she was of the Brontës, the references she's made so far:
- saying her sister's cat is "the colour of Branwell Brontë's hair" (aka: ginger)
- quoting my favourite novel, Villette by Charlotte Brontë: "life is so constructed that the event does not, cannot, will not, match the expectation" <3

I was just about to say how Bathsheba should honestly turn to murder due to how relentless and annoying Boldwood is, and that at least Troy is an interesting character despite also being a terrible person.... & then I kept reading and THAT [redacted for spoilers] happened. I'm in shock but this is so good. and I'm never wrong in my judgement – I was right to never like/trust Boldwood lol

the middle part of this book was something of a struggle to get through but we're so back it's getting so interesting again
also i can tell thomas hardy is a great poet because his descriptions of nature are always so beautiful

jesse reeves is quickly becoming an all time favourite character of mine

I kind of need an entire saga just about Armand and Daniel
