I was just about to say how Bathsheba should honestly turn to murder due to how relentless and annoying Boldwood is, and that at least Troy is an interesting character despite also being a terrible person.... & then I kept reading and THAT [redacted for spoilers] happened. I'm in shock but this is so good. and I'm never wrong in my judgement – I was right to never like/trust Boldwood lol

the middle part of this book was something of a struggle to get through but we're so back it's getting so interesting again
also i can tell thomas hardy is a great poet because his descriptions of nature are always so beautiful
