Going hard on the magical realism here.

How could everyone surrounding 30-years-ago Katherine (from Privilege of the Sword) be so engaging and this POV lot so insufferable?

I find the main professor-student age gap relationship DEEPLY unappetizing.

I apparently remember nothing of Swordspoint, except that I liked it. This is even better.

I acquired most of Oliver Sacks' books ages ago, usually from my sister. Now finally tackling them as audiobooks.

I am much more productive with an engaging audiobook, even when it's full of holes.

Well, the warfighters are clearly at a breaking point (and text is very clear on top-down word choice for Reasons). Who could possibly win the big fight against 'MURICA!? Could it be the AI all along?

So much 'murica, so little personality in literally any character beyond their Role and alluded hobby and/or defining trait.

I'm not entirely certain why the story constantly needs to remind you of characters' exact ages (almost invariably mid-twenties).

I have 24 hours to finish this book before the timer runs out. Also, I still cannot find the unhinged anime cover my audiobook actually possesses.

The drama itself is fine, but I am so bored by the endless philosophizing. I suppose it's a style of the time to get the various "books" into salons, but still...

So many Vorkosigan essays! I should probably pick the series back up now I have something more like an idea of reading order.

I'm not sure what I was expecting from this novella, but it wasn't this. I should have read it ages ago.

For a supposed mathematical genius, this guy has seemingly never heard of calculus, spreadsheets, or P-values. The idea of using "multiple variables" in his equation is BLOWING HIS MIND.

This is not the history book I was expecting for light reading. Instead, it is a self-contradictory list of historical anecdotes 1-3 sentences long where every other story "is the biggest impact on history EVAR!" I am not impressed - especially since I hate being subjected to trivia books. At least it was free.

This is functioning more like a cultural history of mining and uranium procurement than any science background, but I don't mind. I'm learning new stuff.

According to the author, Lewis was absolutely shocked - SHOCKED, I tell you - to discover that the majority of his white, male, English friends in the 1950s were - *gasp* - Christian.

"Narnia can't be an allegory because the English children don't have directly virtuous names like the Greeks did" is a pretty dim take.
