Wasn't expecting a book like this to keep me up for a weekday night reading binge, but it did. The translation is brilliant and can only imagine what the original would be like.

Girl starts defining her politics. Girl is subjected to shock-therapy to "cure" her.

Also, a strange and subtle privilege of walking away from a cause that you cannot fully support, own, or change. And this is less than 200 pages in.

'Ek Ladki Paanch Dewaane' - love and lovers and class/gender dynamics with old school bollywood slapstick humour.
'Chuha aur Main' - mice solidarity against a human to get their rightful food.
'Akaal Utsav' - everybody loves a good drought, esp the bureaucrats.

Reading original Parsai is a treat.

Heartbreak and despair on almost every page. An important book that shows us how to reorient our moral compass. And yet, so woefully under-read.

Every section, every statistic, a painful reminder of the bubble we live in, how little we care and give back to help those who have little to nothing.

Life and (Mis)Adventures of a professional (what's a more polite word for liar). Entertaining.
