Starting off so strong

TFM is finally over... here's to never reading Kierkegaard again.... very much looking forward to this book and to critical lit that doesn't take me a week to understand

This part is making me want to punch Henry Tilney in the face...

A bit nervous to start this one because I've heard mixed reviews...

At that moment the power of reading made itself clear and real to me. If I could see the words, then no one could control them or what I got from them. They couldn't even know if I was merely seeing them or reading them, sounding them out or comprehending them.
