I am a little freaked because this I the second book in a row about death that I am inadvertently reading.

Turning out to be good! Librarian who talks to ghosts!

Pretty good. I’m just waiting for the all too obvious to happen.

Got this at a used bookstore in town, of which there used to be many more of than there are now.
A bit out of date (20 years old), but I recognized the author, Carolyn Hart. She has written many series.
This has turned out delightful, with sardonic wit. The protagonist is a witch so it's not heavy or deeply meaningful. I like this kind of book in my mix. Just in time for Halloween, too!

I wasn't impressed. A young man was almost beaten to death in Ireland but there are no clues at all until 400 pages into it. What happens in the meantime is a long introduction to all the members of his family.

I am trying to find meaning to the boring conversation among this big Irish family but failing more and more with every page. It will probably turn out to be a stupid vampire story. I wonder if I will even finish.
That's what I get for trusting a recommendation from a random talk show host!

This one is well on it's way to many stars as a rating! It's dystopian on a political, yet very personal level. I'll write a review when I'm finished. I agree with Allison that Yoko Ogawa is a great author.

Sorry I chose this book to read before bed!

This book was a slow starter. Yet all the details were necessary for the complicated plot. By midbook, it has become more understandable. I expect the ending will be interesting.
VI is a very relatable narrator. The reader sympathizes with most characters. It is satisfying on an emotional level.
If you like Chicago, you will probably enjoy this book.

Having been to Japan many times over a span of 50 years, I enjoyed every page! It has many interesting facts related to places I have lived in or taught near to. I will reread it just to savor the eruditeness.
