i think what bothers me the most is the Pen situation?? like what do you mean you just broke up with your boyfriend of seven years and suggest he and your friend sleep together, and then go to said friend (who you know is now sleeping with your ex) and tell her you want to get back together (because “it’s just sex between you anyway, right?”) like wtf am i old-fashioned or is it weird

also i’m liking the spice but their talk about kink is so big compared to the actual sex like you expect them to do the craziest stuff with how they talk about it and then it’s the tamest “kinky” sex you’ve ever read about

other things that are not working for me: the whole Pen situation (the way other people still think they are together like wtf) and Lukas is sooo two dimensional also this is all about sex for now I feel like she wants us to think that they are forming a deep relationship but I don’t really see that happening. Spice is good tho

idk how i feel about this?there are positive things(scarlett is one of the most relatable characters i’ve read about)but something feels off?i can’t quite pinpoint it but i think it’s the friends with benefits(which i hate bc it takes away the tension,the best part about romance books)or lukas.i don’t like how paternalistic he acts outside of sex and i miss the pining ali hazelwood mmcs,he just feels so stoic

the way i’m EATING THIS UP??? forbidden love is one of my least favourite tropes but this is soooo cute

- we get it she has blue eyes
- this had some of the most unrealistic dialogues and interactions i’ve ever read (and i’ve read a lot lmao)… like nobody acts like that
- the way he talks about her is sooo embarrassing he literally knows nothing about her but acts like he needs her to live

- the enemies to lovers is so forced and half of the scenes feel like the author was just checking boxes of popular romance tropes on tiktok (that knife to throat scene was so unnecessary lol)
- it feels like a cheap version of a mix if the Hunger Games and the Selection
- some scenes are so cringy
but I’m still eating this up ngl
