i read the first two chapters of this, then started “my year of rest and relaxation;” the books are honestly similar enough that i kept trying to insert serial killers into my year of rest and relaxation. this may be a me-problem.

i accidentally re-started a chapter and it took me embarrassingly long to realize.

the audacity to both hurt my feelings and be BORING

i am trying to get better at maintaining an updated “currently reading.” Thus, I am about to mark several things around the 10% mark, because my rule is not to move them to the “did not finish” shelf (also a new development) until I actually return them to the library. I may yet circle back to them, they just did not hold my interest well enough in the first hour or so to keep me on task.

(rip ben and nancy, the play has to build to the more entertaining couples)

i got to the contract. it’s possible i don’t pick it back up after that.

as a law student, i tend to think i have a pretty high tolerance for boring texts. but this is testing me. i think i am right about where i gave up reading this book in middle school.

i have read this series at least 10 times in my life. I damn near have it memorized. This is the first time i’ve listened to the audiobook, and it is like seeing the story through brand new eyes.
