genuinely just got spoiled for “Beef” season 1 on netflix, of which I am currently on episode 8.

so far, the content of this book is generally good. but there are some strange writing choices.

hoosiers do not get the benefit of disengaging from the christian church, so even though i was not explicitly raised christian, this book is hitting home. if you’re like me, the only school-sanctioned sex education you received is from a religious third-party organization that makes you sign a purity contract in your PUBLIC SCHOOL health class.

this is one of the first books i put on my “want to read” list when i made my goodreads account over seven years ago. i finally got around to reading “the scarlet letter” after picking up a copy of the it at a library book sale this weekend…yeah, i understand why this book became a classic. i’m hooked.

i read the first two chapters of this, then started “my year of rest and relaxation;” the books are honestly similar enough that i kept trying to insert serial killers into my year of rest and relaxation. this may be a me-problem.

i accidentally re-started a chapter and it took me embarrassingly long to realize.

the audacity to both hurt my feelings and be BORING

i am trying to get better at maintaining an updated “currently reading.” Thus, I am about to mark several things around the 10% mark, because my rule is not to move them to the “did not finish” shelf (also a new development) until I actually return them to the library. I may yet circle back to them, they just did not hold my interest well enough in the first hour or so to keep me on task.
