Ok, starò anche ascoltando un audiolibro mentre sto lavorando, PERO' almeno è a tema.

Credevo di aver preso un qualsiasi libro usato con il 50% di sconto, e invece mi sono trovata una formidabile macchina del tempo che mi ha trasportata direttamente alla mia triennale in letteratura.

Ok, avrò già letto tre o quattro capitoli, ma ancora non ho capito una sega di quello che sta succedendo. Non so chi sia nessuno dei personaggi che appaiono e che cazzo stia succedendo. Un tizio ha fatto una scazzottata amichevole con un cavallo. Molta gente beve da una zucca. Boh?

"Riprendiamo domani" dice Evelyn.
"Ok."

Wow, che dialoghi. Ho i brividi.

Aaaah un bel thrillerino scritto bene. Sempre una garanzia per evitare che le mie ondate umorali mettano in pratica la minaccia di mollare la lettura per due mesi consecutivi.

Non riesco a levarmi di dosso la sensazione che l'autrice scriva di cose che conosce soltanto per sentito dire.

Amo iniziare un libro, arrivare a pagina, tipo, 5 e trovarlo pieno di stereotipi sugli italiani. Meraviglioso. La mia cosa preferita in assoluto. Stereotipi sugli italiani e quel tipo di traduzione che distribuisce gli aggettivi attorno al nome con una logica quantitativa che non tiene conto del senso né del suono. Aaaah. Quattrocento pagine così. Non vedo l'ora.

Certo che si legge fra le righe, anche in una versione tradotta, che un libro è francese. Non so se sia la punteggiatura, la modalità di narrazione o cosa, ma si nota proprio.

Il primo racconto salta nel tempo in maniera improbabile e credo di aver capito la metà di quello che voleva effettivamente raccontare -- spero che cambi qualcosa...

Fin dal capitolo 1, la prima cosa che pensi è: "'Sta povera donna".

I... can't seem to find the point of this book. Without reading the introduction before starting it, it's really hard to understand the meaning of the events. There's just a series of descriptions of getting drunk, partying, and that's it. It's not even especially funny, captivating, or well-written. It's just someone telling you they've had fun. This genre, the people portrayed, really aren't my cup of tea.

Nice, for now! I enjoy the choice of using different readers for the wide amount of characters in here. I would otherwise have found hard to distinguish them, probably.

How everyone is so entranced by Mariana is beyond me. She's the most boring person I've ever read about. Most of the things she says are just a monosyllabic reaction to someone else's action or sentence - "Ok." "Thanks." "Why's that?" "Oh." "You're right." "I don't know. "No." "Perhaps." Fosca says that she's fascinating because there is a... stillness, in her. Ironic, isn't it?

Annoyed at male characters existing to hit on Mariana. The writing gets redundant, and reading feels as the author is repeating the exact same thing many times with the help of a thesaurus, as if he had a word count to hit for the day but found a way to cheat. Descriptions are long and useless, they don't convey anything "more". Useless copy-paste of encyclopaedia/dictionary definitions scattered here and there.
