Annoyed at male characters existing to hit on Mariana. The writing gets redundant, and reading feels as the author is repeating the exact same thing many times with the help of a thesaurus, as if he had a word count to hit for the day but found a way to cheat. Descriptions are long and useless, they don't convey anything "more". Useless copy-paste of encyclopaedia/dictionary definitions scattered here and there.

How everyone is so entranced by Mariana is beyond me. She's the most boring person I've ever read about. Most of the things she says are just a monosyllabic reaction to someone else's action or sentence - "Ok." "Thanks." "Why's that?" "Oh." "You're right." "I don't know. "No." "Perhaps."
