I usually like Abby Jimenez books, but this one's dragging. The trope isn't my cup of tea in the first place but at the halfway mark, the main characters are starting to pmo. Might have to DNF this idk

( guest starring: Wah I don't really want to help her learn her magic and I'm also mad)
- Wah, I'm scared of my magic and (you guessed it) mad
- Wah, gotta help them with their magic but why's everyone mad at me 😭

Oh, and random witch with zero reason for being a core POV
My mixed feelings about this series persist

I should've read this immediately after book one because who are these characters and what are they up to?
There was a decent recap at the beginning, but this is quite the sprawling story.
