Caroline is starting When the Well Runs Dry: Prayer Beyond the Beginnings
First found this on my mom’s bookshelf and was immediately intrigued when I saw the title “SJ” gotta love the Jesuits😁 then I read the intro and was hooked. Green’s style felt like a simple, yet beautiful conversation with an old friend over coffee. He mentioned St Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross and had me full on ecstatic. I’m very intrigued to enter this in depth transformational discussion

Picked this book up from the library because I thought it looked interesting. I like the vibe at the summer beach house but the dialogue isn’t great and overall story line isn’t realistic. I’m going to finish it because I have nothing else to do at work…

C.S. Lewis is becoming a dead friend of mine. I am accepting his prose so contently! A mastermind with the pen. He has pierced the bigger picture of love with the most detailed portrayals of affection. He most importantly distinguishes what love is and what it is not, within each category. The reader can relate so closely that it becomes a devouring read and deeply spiritual and emotional experience. Oh to be human

Caroline is starting By M. Eugene Boylan - This Tremendous Lover (1996-12-16) [Paperback]
I am less than 4 pages into this book, (still on the introduction) and I already firmly believe that this book will be the most cherished book of my life. An all time favorite. No other book I’ve read can compare.

I’m so glad I decided to read this book. It’s reminding me how much I love murakami’s work. This might be my favorite one, this novel puts me in a magical state where I’m talking to cats and listening to low jazz.

He takes an humble approach throughout the entire story/evaluation of the universal human condition. I could not appreciate the deep value if this book enough. Not to say that it brought understanding of which was not already there, since his basis is found in everyday life. But the connection of the second part in describing the key elements of concentration camp experiences to his work in logotherapy is brilliant.

It was the same when I read Plato’s late works, and was entranced by the question of whether mud, hair, heat-haze, shadows reflected in water, fleeting features, have Form (Meaning/Truth). Simply because that wondering was sensually beautiful and touched the electrode inside me that responds to beauty.

That moment when the river water scintillated in the July sunlight like the scales of a huge fish, when you suddenly placed your hand on my arm, when I trembled to touch the dark blue veins running raised over the back of your hand, when, gripped by fear, I finally brought my lips to yours-has that moment now disappeared inside you?…Will you forgive me? And if you are unable to forgive me, willyouatleastrecall?

Realizing it reminds me a lot of fellowship point,
a book I read a couple months ago. I absolutely loved it. Need to find more like this. Romanticized yet Realistic Life portrayals.

I’ve really been trying. Pushing through the painful process. But something is telling me to stop this book. I could continue, maybe I’ll pick it up in another two days. But for now it’s bringing me down so intensely. I get the story kind of. It’s just not for me. I’m a glass half full and this is just a glass half empty. I read books to enjoy and also for the experience in literary art. Not my cup of tea.
