My Omnibus version of Dark Gate Angels is actually 1856 pages long, & 10 Books in all.

I'm not sure if it's any different to the 4 book issue, just divided differently, but I'm just about to start on Book 6: 'Broken Victories', which starts on page: 874.

Book five has been full of one battle after another, between Myrddin's forces, & the Dark One's captive Orcs/Gnomes, & ends with Grok capturing Anabelle!

These first two books are great, with this second one ending on a real low note - will look forward to seeing if, & how, Theo comes back to life!

Theo, a Greek woman living in America. Ex Soldier, turned artifact thief.

I've just finished book 1, of this series, & feel totally involved in Theo's life, with her two 5" tall 'friends', Simon & Garfunkel, who are the alter-egos of the Goddess of Justice.

Theo is a little bit hazy where the belongings of other people are concerned. If those belongings were those of mythical beings - since the Gods decided to go away - then Theo thinks they are fair game, as do others!

The Seed Vault is a great story, where Bethany Anne and her crew kick back, and decide to have some fun gathering up seeds from all over the world to take with them through the Gate.

At the same time, Bob at, William, and Marcus decide to have a competition, to see who can brew the best beer - the results are surprising!

This first story: Payback, has Tabitha, accompanied by Gabrielle, going back to her home town, to check up on her family & friends there.

Tabitha is still scared of those she left behind, & it takes a conversation with Gabrielle, & a confrontation with those that had used her, for her to get over the past, & face the future.

I loved The Roaring 20's!

As someone who has a soft spot for that era, I don't blame Vincent for fixating on it as a theme for his business.

The story certainly gave Grace and Henry a workout, both physically, and mentally, and I loved the mix of humour, drama, crime, and detecting that it involved - and the happy ending for all those involved (except Nick), was a bonus!

I'm very sad it's the last story, though!

In The Loveland Frog, Grace and Henry are not only busy with finding out who, and what, the Frog really is, but they also have to volunteer for twenty five hours in a day care centre for the elderly.

What they find, in both their investigations, and in their volunteer work, is a huge surprise - which is something that the group of young people, determined to make everyone's life a living hell, is about to get, too!

In The Moth Man, Grace and Henry have to confront an urban legend come to life - a being that is making life very hard for the students competing in an engineering competition.

When the list of suspects becomes far too long, what should they do to find out the truth?

In Castle of Ghosts, Grace and Henry have to try & work out how ghostly Nuns keep appearing, & terrifying, people in a Castle in Italy.

Grace & Henry end up neck deep in Jocks & Cheerleaders, while investigating the origins of Charlie No-face.

They learn the real story behind the legend, but only after an accident caused by a collapsing mine tunnel - & both Grace, & Henry, experience their first ever dates.

The Twins have been asked to house sit for 5 days, & their parents take the chance to visit their own parent.

Unfortunately, the Templeton who own the house ate getting threatening letters by someone called The Watcher, & they are hoping the twins might find out who it is.

Grace & Henry go through quite a bit but, in their own special way, manage to find out the who, & the why, of the case!

The twins go on a 3 day break, to recover from their last mission, and find themselves mixed up with a ghost hunt, a search for Blackbeard's treasure, and looking ng for a missing young girl.

The Montauk Monster takes place when the twins, Grace & Henry, are 17. They've got 1 year left before going on to Uni - Henry hopes to go to Stanford, & Grace to MIT in Massachusetts.

With 1 year to go, they need do a joint senior project &, due to finding out the true facts about the ghost at the Adelaide Gaol, in S. Australia, they decide to study Urban Myths.

This starts a year full of adventure & discovery.

These stories open with Real Ghosts. This is about twins, Grace, & Henry. The twins are travelling around the world with their Lecturer parents, and are being homeschooled, although are coming up to the age to go on to University.

In Sydney, Australia, they have some free time, so decide to go to the local museum, where they are tricked into thinking they'd seen a ghost. They look into it, & find the true answer.

New Spring, by Robert Jordan, is a short precursor to the Wheel of Time series. It's one series that I've never read but, after reading this, it's one that I'm going to!
I loved it!

The Burning Man, by Tad Williams, is part of the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series. I've not read it, and doubt if I ever will, as it doesn't appeal to me.
This short story is about the eternal questions of Belief - belief in Gods, in Intercessors, and in whether we can believe the things written down, which we are told take having Faith, rather than belief!
It's an interesting story, and it made me think!

The Hedge Knight is a story from the Wheels of Time series. It is set around 100 years before the tales told in the series.

This involves a new Knight, a commoner, called Dunc by his Master, who had made him a knight just before he caught a chill, and died.

Dunc, being a hedge knight, knew that he would need to follow in his masters footsteps, and try to win at tourneys.

This tale tells us what happened!

Runner of Pern takes place just before a Pass is due to begin, and tells the story of Tenna, a girl from a Runner family, who gets knocked off of her path by Haligon, one of Lord Groghes' sons. It tells of their budding relationship, and how she begins her Running Career taking on Haligon, but forgiving him in the end.
I've read this recently, in another book, and enjoyed it then, too!

The Sea and Little Fishes is, in microcosm, the story of Esme Weatherwax's position within the witching world.

At one point in the story, Nanny Ogg mentions that the sea is water - the analogy works well, in that Esme is the Sea, and all other witches are the little fish swimming in it.

Her power is such, that she spends more time in not using it, in an effort to keep things well, than using it like a hammer!

The last story: The Bones Do Lie, goes back to the first one, where Chloe rules in a cavern while Time itself goes mad.
Like the first story, Chloe is quite wager to leave behind anyone who disagrees with her but, this time, it's one of her favourites who chooses to leave, rather than stay with her!
