Why must a majority of YA heroines be sooooo self-deprecating. I absolutely loathe that this trait permeates the genre. I get that the authors want to portray "character growth" but it usually just comes off as teenage angst. Ughhh.

I’ve been tearing up for the last 60 pages. The devastation is painful to read about. I can’t imagine what it would have been like to live through it.

I don’t care for Chaol and yet here he has his own book… ugh. IT WILL GET BETTER.. right?
