Its impossible to read this and not hear in the words, Mary Beards voice - she has such a definitive (in many ways) tone!

Theres some real evilness and grime embedded into the hearty of this story!

Man this is really coming apart... you cant just add motivation for massive plot changing events as they are happening! Its all just really bad writing...

Unfortunately this whole book has been travel to a battle, battle, characters swap groups and repeat

Guthvars probs the most fun charscter to follow. The God's are cringe.

Really struggling to keep going with this one...unfortunately, cuz I thoroughly enjoyed the first book - perhaps what i need is a grimdark norse story but no gods

This one isnt doing it for me like the prior - good but the relatively basic prose is starting to jar, and the amount of exposition is amount ta marvel film

This dude is coming out with some lowky stupid remarks. China as an example of a country that uses its huge industrial might to have set itself up as the biggest renewable infrastructure in the worl- great!...and yet, just paragraphs before says china uses more coal than all the rest world combined. You can be both the biggest renwable resource globally and also the biggest polluter as a consequence!

The with fiction, esp classic fiction is sometimes, despite being well written and a fun story, superfluity mysticism and poor pacing just makes them dull reads...DNF

Barelling towards a DNF. Its a fun concept and fun to read but this last chapter affirms everything I hate aboht reading 'classic literature'

What the fuck is going on

The last 300 pages of these books make it so hard to criticise the unneccesarily lengthy stuff that precedes it

I think 1/5 of what Ive read could be removed from the book and it woukdnt change the narrative. Sanderson likes to say hes narrative driven but uses the world building image as his publicity image. If genuinely true, hes just bad at narratives - this book doesnt need to be as long as it is if hes narrative driven.
