I have been a fan of Naomi Klein since 2023 when I first read work at university. As someone who grew up Christian, Klein & Taylor perfectly illustrate the feeling of end times fascism in Christian zionism. I chose to leave the church in 2016, but people who have never been exposed to Christian end times doctrine don't understand the sway it has on global powers such as the USA today. Highly recommend.

Actual documentation of the death of my academic career. I'd rather chew glass at this point than finish this book. But alas I can not.

My fascination with the philosophy of crime and punishment has lead me here. This is one of the books I am strong in my conviction that everyone should read.

Reading for a Nordic literature class 10/10 recommend studying Nordic literature.

This book is a beast. But I'm trying my best to enjoy it (even the pov characters i don't like).

I'm on the fence about this whole inductive system of logic. JSM is a scientific realist which is a position I myself want to endorse. However JSM is running straight into two problems. First the bankruptcy of science. Secondly JSM believes everything can be reduced to sub atomic particles but also knowledge stems from observation. Obviously we can not observe sub atomic particles beyond the trails they leave behind.

I can't ethically justify my curiosity. But this subverts expectations with clear communication, honesty about mental health, and an openness that's worthy of five stars. Then I'm reminded that it's hockey smut wherein the main character sleeps with his dead brothers secret ex boyfriend.

This has me considering the institutionalization of death. Especially in Nodic countries the church controls the birth registry and the church controls the livings relationship to mourning, grief, and the death of their loved ones.

There's something here if I can only build a connection between church, state, law enforcement, and the hospital.

The first half of this memoir is excellent. Then there's a big event that shifts the narratives tone. From a magical high to drinking piss locked in a psychiatric hospital. Reads like whiplash.

Compelling but I have so many questions. Hopefully our narrator finds some answers. Also the logistics of this world would be so complex to set up...... to leave everyone to the fate of death in a cage makes no sense.

Incredible concept.

I honestly don't know why I haven't read this sooner. I love Socrates style of philosophical pursuit.

So this is a Cain and Abel retelling. I'm a but disappointed.

Going into this blind I'm getting the vibe it's a Cain and Able story.

If you don't care about Westeos history this isn't for you. However I absolutely love George R.R. Martin's indulgence.

I'm so motivated to read Steinbeck. Hopefully I'll get through all of Steinbecks novels this summer.

The first time I tried to read this I hated it (I'm Ali Hazelwoods biggest fan). Second time round my expectations are very different and I'm having a fantastic time.

I knew this was going to be good. Beyound that I knew nothing else. Truthfully it's outstanding.

Like is it rude to be thinking "you killed your wife fucking move on already." Probably.

I want to trust the process but I'm really bored. The intrigue is paper thin, constantly changing names, allegiances, and time lines confusing. I know there's good plot somewhere but I need James to get to it.

James Islington is a metaphysics wizard. Using competing metaphysically theories of time to craft his magic system and world religion.

Political philosophy. A war full of misinformation. Religious prophecies. A mysterious magic system. And now possible time travel. I am hooked.

I swear Jame Islington doesn't miss. Everything I've read from him has been awesome.

Never thought I'd make it here. This is a monumental achievement in my reading journey.

Obviously this is not the Wheel of Time but Shin is one of the most Mat Cauthon coded characters I've ever read. A headless soldier with the devils luck, talented in combat due to the gift or curse to hear voices of the dead.
