This is very different from the TV show adaptation. It makes me appreciate how well the show adapts the material. I enjoy the changes while perserving the heart of the story.

This book scares me, while also intriguing me. So here I go head first into what is assured to be heart break.

I'm re-reading this through a more philosophical lens. When I first read this my take away was that it was indulgent nostalgia. However, now that I'm not distracted with my own expectations of what this needs to be I'm open to the deeper political philosophy hidden within the text.

Simply put we have enough to sustain all. However, the problem lies in that we don't have enough to satisfy the rich. We will never have enough to satisfy the rich. Billionaires are the parasite killing our world, raping our planet, and draining our shared resources for their own self importance. Exploiting everyone and everything in the pursuit of something that does not exist.

Crazy premise I'm so invested. Please if you want to have the best reading experience go into this book blind.

I forgot how awesome the wheel of time is. This has been an absolute blast.

It is not violence against women. It is violence done by men.

Getting hit by a bus would hurt less than this! I'm so conflicted and warry of everyone.

This book is awesome. The pacing is immaculate. The characters are complex. The world building is intriguing. The political danger has me flipping pages as fast as humanly possible. Lastly the revenge plot is brewing, and I know it's going to pay off with an epic finale.

I hate how much I love this. Alchemised is everything I typically hate in a novel. Self-harm, suicidal ideation, sexual assault, violence, rape, complex trauma, corrupt religion, racism, classism, and a fascist regime. Yet there's something there in how these two broken people learn to love each other, to process trauma, and grieve, which has me on the edge of my seat eagerly flipping to the next page.

Second time trying to read this. However, with hot goth lesbians and a unique sci-fi mystery setting, this one deserves to be read.

Melodrama Queen

Traumatized nuerodivergent orphan discovers drugs and becomes absolutely insane at chess.

I'm just over 200 pages in, and it's only 9% of this story. I respect this story and the fans that make it so special. However, I'm not sure I have another 2300ish pages left in me. The story is unique, but I'm not gripped by it. I respect the character dynamics that have been established. But they don't have me engrossed.

I undownloaded Instagram in order to force feed myself this masterpiece. If you don't hear from me in the next six months you know why. I am emotionally fragile and ready to cry.

I finally read the most heartbreaking death in the history of queer Harry Potter fanfiction. The worst part is I did it to myself. I knew when I started this that he was going to die. There's no happy endings, just tears and a story that took me 3 years to finish the tragic ending. I'm so close to being done, but it's so sad. I'm not supposed to feel this much raw emotion over fanfiction.

I am so confused. I can only take so much pretentious banter, non-linear storytelling, and meager crumbs for plot. But in Petras' book recommendations, I trust.

Only Olivie Blake could write a story about a vampire, ghost, demon, demigod, angel, reaper, siren, death, demon king, and some guy named Fox and make it read like a typical Wednesday afternoon.
