Ch. Awakening: “The reason why I do not know anything about myself, the reason why Siddhartha has remained alien and unknown to myself is due to one thing, to one single thing - I was afraid of myself, I was fleeing myself… I will no longer mutilate and destroy myself in order to find the secret behind the ruins… Meaning and reality are not hidden somewhere behind things, they were in them, in all of them.”

Kept hearing this incessant, high-pitched buzzing on my morning commute while reading this that I could have sworn was part of the music for Plague Inc. Freaky !
Some stand outs over the last few pages:
“Funerary pomp” surely has to be the funniest sounding phrase with such a bleak meaning
“Poverty always triumphed over fear”

I need to start this again because I was getting so frustrated at my confusion with all the characters having too similar names (too many Hs!! I mean, 2, but still) and I had no idea what any of the dialogue written in that northern voice meant, felt like I had to google something every 3 minutes and by the time I’d googled something I’d forgotten who was who.

I keep liking it then really hating it every other chapter so it feels a little bit sloggish
