I would never have picked up this book if it wasn’t for Goodreads suggesting it! The notion of an octopus solving a murder is strange - but he is such an interesting character, and the book is more about relationships than anything else. Loving it

Well that took a turn

At times, I feel like this book has been written by an excitable and dramatic teenager... It’s a bit strange that the “young Lily” diary entries are more realistic and more interesting to read about than the older Lily, who seems like a caricature of herself and doesn’t match with her younger self.

Only a few chapters in and already I love it

Story 12 - book title, but not the best story in the book imo
JW4 - quickly gives an explanation of why ghosts were so prevalent in the past, and looking into the future (and back to the beginning chapter of the book - devices)

Story 11 - I foresaw the “twist”, but still enjoyed it

Story 10 - historical fiction, slow but intriguing

Story 9 - fun, a nice counterbalance

Story 8: about grief - sad, heavy, real
