When I first read Glück, I didn't "get" it, but I finally did as I read more of her work. I think I significantly favor her latter work versus her early work. I loved "Averno" and "Meadowlands" is my favorite Glück so far. It is radiant and magnificent (I can see why she won the Nobel Prize!) Her voice is so stark, and I love the almost narrative world she envelopes the reader in.
