back to this book again 💔

i’ve been in such a dire mood all day and this book is quite literally saving me from descending into madness lol

a story inspired by the banning of the book Persepolis in Chicago public schools in 2013. found it accidentally at my local library. really cool how the book found its way to me at this moment in time :-)

idk i just think if some random dude told me "you seem brighter than most of the backwater folk i've had the pleasure of encountering since i got here" i wouldn't blush. i'd be really offended lol

the grovelling is going to be peak i CANNOT WAIT

thank the cat gods i already own a cat or this book would’ve made me so sad about not having one. the cats are so adorable i love how distinct their personalities are

may i never be subjected to a drunken confession after trying to have a sober conversation with an avoidant man because that would piss me off

so she was infatuated by a man who barely noticed her or gave her any attention for SIX years? girl please i need you to be serious…..

last time i read an Ali Hazelwood book was her debut back in 2021. i did not like it but i think it’s been long enough to give her a second chance

(it’s already gotten a groan out of me though)

the writing is scrumptious

oh to be the sole curator and caretaker of a magical museum

the art style is so cute i can’t get enough

sometimes i can’t take this book seriously because all they’re doing is just open a starbucks in some small fantasy town

I’m sorry am I stupid or does the sentence “A lot of folks allow you feel peaceful after a bear” make no goddamn sense???

i’m scared of the damage this book is going to do to my psyche (in a good way)

her younger brother is so sweet 😭 poor thing has to babysit his older sister all the time because she is horrible at magic LOL

i feel like this is going to end up being one of my favourite YA books
