So angry at myself for putting off reading this book for so long 😩

I can definitely feel that I haven’t read any high fantasy in a long time because the world building makes my brain work a little extra. But I’m fully invested into this world now!

Not even 11 years later, I finally got my hands on this book.
It is definitely making my brain work a little extra with all the world-specific lingo and terminology. But that's the joy of high fantasy :)

Blinked and there are only 20 pages of the book left :o
While this won’t make it to my top of fae books, this is undoubtedly an entertaining and easy read!

After being stuck in yet another major life crisis, I have finally been able to break the cycle by getting Obsidian at an airport.
Right off the bat, it feels like I'm reading an AO3 fanfiction, not a book, but let's see where this goes!

Oh wow, I think I'm about to gobble up this book in one sitting

I feel like this book should have been 100 pages long at most.
It's the same things said over and over and over again.

'Fire Punch' is dark to its core, but unfortunately not like the brutal 'Berserk' way. It's just revolting and nonsensical. So far this feels like a fever dream that you'd want to forget :/

I really don't understand Elias. To be honest, I don't get Laia's feelings either.
She sees Keenan once and pretty much instantly gets butterflies in her stomach. Then Elias also sees her like 2 times and keeps thinking about her. But then he also sort of likes Helene... I am a bit confused, but probably not nearly as confuseed as the protagonists are.

14 chapters later Elias has finally met Laia. I wonder if the story's pace will pick up soon? 👀

Since my Roman Empire is the Roman Empire, reading a fantasy book inspired by it is just 😩🤌

Amidst all the "It Ends With Us" drama, I am picking up a Colleen Hoover book. Let's see where it gets me.

"It Ends With Us" was the perfect book for the mood I had at the time I read it, so it ended up being a 5 star read. Now my expectations are high, and I have a feeling this might backfire😅.

If I took a shot every time it's mentioned how big Adam is, I would be dead from alcohol poisoning by now.

Okay, the sex scene is not it :/

Not only did it feel like it came out of nowhere, but also the way it's described is ... slightly weird💀
"He could fit her entire breast in his mouth. All of it." What is this man? A hippo?
This line alone knocked me out of the image I was picturing in my head. Am I the odd one or did anyone feel the same way?

I thought I was being paranoid about Dr. Benton a few chapters in, but now Holden is warning Olive about him...Honestly, I feel like something bad is coming👀

The slow burn is playing with my heart and I’m totally enjoying it.

“The Love Hypothesis” is currently making me feel the very same excitement with a tinge of restlessness that I get in romantic situations irl.
Which could mean only 2 things: I’m up at 4am reading and this is going to be at least a 4 star read.

Oh boy, that whole Dr. Benton situation (him being the only person to consider funding Olive’s research, whilst also knowing about her ties to Dr. Carlsen) - I don’t like it 👀

With my life finally slowing down, I couldn’t be happier to return to reading. And from all the books I could have picked up, I think I picked the right one because omg academia romance?? And *real* academia, not the romanticized college life. I’m hooked!

I am saying this 70 pages in: this will be a 2 star read at best. The only reason I'm still reading this book is because it was a gift.

'Surrounded By Psychopaths' is written by a businessman and it shows. I picked it up thinking It would a lot more scientific. I was so wrong.
So far half of it is just the author demonizing this already deeply misunderstood personality disorder & him talking about himself.

Just had a look at the reviews & many are saying that the 2nd half of the book is amazing. I
really hope it is, because at this rate this going to be a 3 star read. Not bad, but I’m deffo hoping for more🙏

I just realized what my biggest problem with The Serpent & The Wings of Night is - it's the dialogues. I'm not digging them :/

1) How did I not notice the shadow of the bird on the book cover before? :O
2) Ngl, I kind of forgot how much I used to struggle with changes of POVs. The constant cut offs are starting to irk me. Just let me learn what's going on with at least one of them! T-T

I should genuinely stop reading Throne Of Glass at night, cause how am I going to be able to sleep?

Finally we are getting some answers!
The Wyrdmarks and the king’s doings (and the mystery surrounding both of them) were starting to drive crazy.

On the same note, I am pleasantly surprised by the world-building and the magic system in Throne of Glass!

Not gonna lie, I’ve heard so many amazing reviews of ‘The Serpent & The Wings of Night’, but so far it’s very meh🫤
