Judging by the picture of the author on the back of the book, I'm not going to enjoy this.

I'll just keep reading quirky love stories, then.

I forgot how charming the beginning of this book is.

I'm not sure how I feel about this book. Judgy, I guess. Yeah, I feel pretty judgy. I know it started as a Wattpad story, and it kind of feels like it went straight from there to an actual book, without much editing. A lot of the conversations have little progression, jumping from one moment/emotion, immediately into a different one without a natural transition. (Insert that Anchorman meme here)

I need to bounce my thoughts off someone else about whether or not this dude was on drugs when he wrote this book. HOW DOES ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND DESCRIBE AN ADULT MAN Being SO ATTRACTED TO A TEN YEAR OLD GIRL THAT HE MARRIES HER?
I have never not wanted to finish a book so much in my life, but also I have to find out if there's any purpose in this rambling story and also it's the book for book club. Le sigh.

I'm enjoying this book, I just got a little burn out from it (took about a week or two break from reading it) because it is REALLY hard to keep all the races and people and legends and everything straight. I'm hoping it will all magically click in my head eventually. If not, I might have to let the book go.

I'm about halfway through right now and I feel like I've stalled out. I'll get around to finishing it one of these days.

I'm remembering what happened when I read Siege and Storm. IT GAVE ME ANXIETY AND I HAD TO KEEP WALKING AWAY TO PROCESS WHAT WAS HAPPENING.
Y'all, I'm only halfway through this book and the intensity... THE INTENSITY. How is what's going on right now only at the hallway point?! What else do these people have to do in the remaining pages?????!? Part of me is terrified.

Here's what I love about Leigh Bardugo:
I'm nearly a quarter of the way through this book and she's already crammed a whole lot of "HOLY CRAP WHAT" into that small space, without making it feel like it's been crammed.
This woman knows how to write a book.

I've only read the prologue and I've laughed out loud twice. I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE REST.

If I had read this before The Raven Cycle....I never would've read The Raven Cycle. I'm more than halfway through, might as well finish this wretched thing.

It took me 80 pages to get into this. There's a lot of back story that I think is interesting as a summary, but was kind of boring drawn out. Then it got really really good. I can't shake the feeling that every little thing I'm reading will come back to be important or mean something later. I guess that's the book taking over my brain.

I'm not even 100 pages in and already the writing is meager. Also, there's a serious lack of commas.
I'm determined to finish it though, because the last book I picked up I didn't finish. I can't do that twice in a row....

I CAN'T EVEN STAND WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS BOOK. I'M GOING TO PUT IT IN THE FREEZER. IT'S GIVING ME ANGINA!!!!!!!!!
