Such wonderful biting satire and I've needed my dictionary to look up new words-- delightful.

and it reads like a young adult novel. The writing isn't refined, the story, so far, is rather bland, and the characters aren't well developed. I certainly wouldn't call it a
"breathless work" unless you get breathless over cliched young romance. I am going to keep reading in hopes that as the protagonists matures so does the writing.

I am 1/4 way in and I have to say this book reads like a young adult novel. I bought it because I had read good reviews, but so far I don't feel think the writing is strong or that the characters are complex. I certainly don't feel it is a "breathless work" unless the it because of sighing from boredom. I am holding out hope that as the protagonist matures so will the voice.

I want to like this book, but it is a struggle to get through. It is likely I will set it aside and never come back to it. That said there are some lovely passages and interesting ideas embedded in these letters.
