powering through all the 八卦 YIPPEE! here are my fav new idioms i've picked up so far:
一针见血: lit. draw blood on the first prick (to hit the nail on the head)
顺藤摸瓜: lit. to follow the vine to get to the melon (to track sth following clues)
喧宾夺主: lit. the guest's voice overwhelms the host's (a minor player upstages the main attraction)
狗改不了吃屎: lit. a dog can't stop itself from eating shit = bad habits are hard to change
