Rich is starting Biblical Quotation in Old Icelandic Norwegian Religious Literature volume 1: text
A wonderful read for students of Old Norse because its level can be easier than many textbooks that deal with the language, especially if one has any biblical knowledge.

Great. This is the only pure linguistics book that I really liked.

Really good butt in about the fourth chapter he starts referring to a knowledge of German. He starts out in the introduction disavowing that sort of thing.

It's ungrammatical because the Old English is only gloss I've switched to the Paris Psalter.

A good way to learn/use a foreign language: read something you already know. This is "The Good News" version en Francais.

I'm transcribing the Old English glosses in this to publish online some day. The Psalms in OE are DIFFICULT because the scribes added things in putting them down.

Really helps you understand kids: it's not race, culture, religion, etc. that affects learning. It's money, or lack of it and what to do about it.
