Für mich leider bisher ein ziemlicher Flop. Der Humor liegt so gar nicht auf meiner Wellenlänge - das ist einfach zu viel des Lächerlichen. Hatte zwar etwas slapstick-komödiantisches Richtung Louis de Funes erwartet (den ich auch fast schon grenzwertig, aber immerhin ein Original finde) - dies hier wirkt allerdings wie eine misslungene Hommage mit billigen Witzen.

This will be a tough read, as I don't really sympathize with the main character who is also telling the story.

Now on to part two in my Stranger December reading month.

Today starts my ‚Stranger December‘ month with all three parts of the series.

Help! Is it correct to put a comma before AND after ‘and’ to combine two sentences into one? I was taught to put one before, but not after (British English). There are quite some sentences with “,and,” in this story which always make me stumble over it while reading. This is really meant as a serious question, so answers from native speakers are more than welcome!

Wird langsam spannender, aber ein echter Wow-Effekt hat sich bisher nicht eingestellt.

A real shame I waited so long to start reading this one, but I never really felt in the right mood for it (besides the very moment I decided to apply for it, of course).

However, it starts getting to comfortable and cozy for my liking...

Decided I had to read the book before I can watch the movie, so when I saw the trailer last week at cinema I knew it was now or never...and surely, after just the first couple pages, the book reawakened that feeling of familiarity I always get when reading a work of this author, which accompanies me for more than half my life now.

Plätschert ganz nett vor sich hin, aber sor richtig spannend ist es (noch?) nicht. Dafür wird mir ein bisschen zu viel diskutiert.
