The writing is excellent... but the problem with this kind of stories is that it's just so predictable. If I were reading instead of listening to an audiobook, I would be terribly bored. Good thing the narrators have amazing voices.

Blaise's identity is officially out in the open, not that it was a surprise since many already knew about it, it wasn't difficult to put two on two together. It didn't take long for his lover's new husband to find about it and sent his men to kill blaise lolz. What a peculiar protagonist, I don't even pity him. This is not your usual high fantasy story with clear boundaries bet. good and evil. More realistic, really.

it was horrible that rudel didn't realize galbert's true intentions at all in sending him to assassinate Bertran. his employer bought his loyalty for a large sum and he didn't see through it. so sad really. and another thing, i don't like these arbonnian women at all. too cunning and manipulative for their own good. and this not sleeping alone in carnival night tradition is pure bollocks.

haven't progressed much, coz it's a fact that I get easily sleepy when reading during nighttime. I'm far from my younger self when i used to read up to 1am. anyweiz, the brother of the arimondan blaise has killed arrived at the tavern to take revenge. but ariane prohibits a death match but suggested they fight for entertainment since it's festiveal season.

Read a bit while I waited for fam to fetch me in 7/11 magallanes. I'm now in part 2, and the setting this time is Tavernel. It is a port city, and from what I recall this is like the university hub of arbonne lolz. A new MC was introduced, a female troubadour which is kinda weird coz I thought singers are only male haha. So there was instant enmity between her and Blaise. But I think they'll be friends in the future.

Ademar is a total creep. Or freak. Or both. So Blaise went away frm Gorhaut coz he found no honor in defnding his country ruled by a traitorous king. Bertran is an interesting & unconventional villain. He's a cad, but he's smart & he's definitely up to something. I wonder what. Most of all, there's still no info abt wat happened 20 yrs ago dat caused d rift bet Miraval and Barbentaine. The tryst that started it all.

from what i read so far, this looks to be mature high fantasy. the mcs here should be the aged queen Signe and the coran from the North Blaise. i still can't quite grasp the matter about that incidenr years ago concerning Signe's daughter Aelis. was there more to it than revenge on her husband?

the GR app is broken. anyways. it's been a while I read physical books. i've hoarded a lot this month lolz.

it took me a while to get used to the writing,but once I did I find it very amusing indeed, its like reading a chinese drama. FJ and DJ pairing is surprisingly likeable in this novel, contrary to my utter dislike on them in the drama. i actually like DJ's 'patay mali' moves than YH's agressive tactics. gesh, im falling for the wrong guy just like FJ is lolz.

it had a good start!!!! but then it did a 360 degrees...all went downhill from there...hahaiz
