This book is so bad I feel my microbiome is slowly dying from cringe.

The accents in this audiobook are truly the worst I've ever heard. All the English accents are completely ridiculous and I'm not sure what they are trying to be. But the Italian guy sounds like he is from India.

Just how seriously am I supposed to take absurd grotesque pretentious snobbery. It is exaggerated for comedy, right?

Oh my god. Here comes the rape joke. Actually not even a joke. The main character's friend thinks it's funny that he rapes his wife and recommends to the main character. Main character says basically: haha, you're an asshole, ha ha. (this is the character we are supposed to be cheering for, not some disgusting shite)

Strangely, the only person who hasn't infuriated me at any point so far is Charlotte Lucas.

So far in most impressed with the fact that all the Polish names of people and places are not grotesquely misspelled and have the correct diacritics. Also Marie Curie is correctly referred to as Maria Curie-Skłodowska

All they ever do is snap at each other. I’m not sure how I’m supposed to believe they actually love each other.

The hero is no control of his action the moment he gets a hard on, the heroine has shits for brains, and they seem to be completely unable to have a semi-normal conversation.

Both the hero and heroine are so stupid they really shouldn’t reproduce.

Really don’t know what the point of these quotes from “Lady’s Suffrage Society Times”. This protagonist, despite belonging to the the society does not seem to have any interest in its actual work.

So she didn’t want to be marry a man imposed on her, therefore she felt it was ok to trap someone else into a marriage they didn’t want?

So far, it's the same scene and the same two bits of dialogue on loop.
Heroine doesn't want to marry the man chosen for her, because INDEPENDENCE. Yet she is in love with an equally overbearing and controlling man, but HANDSOME

I think what really bothers me about all those pop-psychology book is the endless string of corporate anecdotes and case studies. Can we please, for the love of god, stop talking CEOs for just 15 minutes?

I'm only at the beginning but there is so much stuff here I need to google to find out more. A very rewarding read so far.

If this keeps up, it's heading for solid five stars and the 'special place in my heart' shelf.

I was just looking for some decent urban fantasy to read over the Christmas break and picked this series. What even... A week later I'm on book four and the whole series is giving me all the feels. ALL OF THEM. ALL THE FEELS. How am I even going to read other books after this? Please recommend because the withdrawal will be a bitch, dig?
