This is so similar to Heather Fawcett's Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Fairies. Just the tone and the dynamic between the two of them, the setting also. Though they don't encounter the fairies like in the other book, this book sounds like it could have been written by the same author almost.

SPOILER: I'm confused, if person B has person A's ring, therefore controlling them, and person B tells person A to do something towards person C who has person B's ring, can't person C make person B command person A stop doing the thing they don't want them to do?

It's very similar to the other books in this series. I'm getting a bit bored.

It's still narrative world building. It's a lot and I don't feel connected to any of the characters.

I just can't get into this one.

I found that rarest of books I think, a fantasy where the heroine is middle-aged, plus-sized, and child-free by choice. I feel like in this scenario Commissioner Gordon would have said this is the hero we need AND the hero we deserve.

Apparently I read this in 2017, and I had no memory of it. I'm a third of the way into it and it's just starting to sound familiar. But I don't remember how it ended so I'm going to keep going. 🤷

So far I really like it. People seemed to go one way or the other in the reviews, so we'll see if it can keep up the momentum.

No new deaths yet. But protagonist talks to a very unhappy ex-Brothel woman. That may be what the SA warning was about.

This had a trigger warning intro, so I'm listening to it unless it gets really gross and rapey. SPOILERS apply here! 30% in there's been four human deaths by bog creatures. One noble fae killed due to a bad joke, and (I think) 8 various fae creatures at a party for conspiracy. And there have been three fae dudes that have been circling our human heroine. Kill count 13, possible love interests 3.

Another reviewer said they use the f-word 387 times in this book, it feels like more....

Modern term: camisole and shorts

They use a lot of modern terms that I don't think this world would have, the last one I remember was pheromones.

Big bad Fae + human girl with a special ability and rinse and repeat I guess.
