I'm having heart palpitations!! I had no idea Claire Kent wrote another book!!! Synopsis sounds great. I'm going to have to carve out some time to read this asap 😁

Damn...I was lured into reading this book bc I thought the heroine unironically had a bright pink car that she loves. But she's just another grundy tomboy (who loves to eat 🙄), this time with a mismatched car. When can we get some confident girly girls in sports romance??

This is starting off really great, but it took a sharp downturn as soon as smug, boring, annoying Lou and Cullum showed up. I'm guessing they are leads from previous books....previous leads make terrible supporting characters! I really wish authors would stop doing this.

Luckily the heroine is about to go off into the wilderness so hopefully the story will get good again.

Aida is lovely and charming, but this would be so much better if we didn't have Cullum's POV. He does not sound like a 30 year old man at all. He sounds 24, if I'm being generous. What was the reason for all this??

Now all of a sudden she's a leader to a group of people she doesn't know or care about, but feels guilty for hiding secrets? Girl just get in your car and gooooo. Do what you want. You don't owe any of these crazies anything.

AHHHH I did not know Claire Kent had written a post apocalyptic novel!! She's the queen of survivalist romances and for some reason I thought she retired from writing under this name. What a treat 😊

Man I hate this saintly long suffering kind of heroine. Verbal abuse and you just sigh and keep trying to help? Is this the only way women can be worth rooting for? Would it kill someone to write a character who reacts normally in these cinderella situations.

The heroine in this book is named Shilah (Native American name), with a sister named Kale (Indian name), and she is described many times wearing a Sari. But she seems to be full Aryan white!!

I'll give it a chance but it's putting me off 😔
